Tourism

What attractions bring people to our area?         

Okanogan Trails Scenic Byway : (We are at the northern gateway.) 
Via-97 International Corridor : (We are in the heart of.)
Great Columbia Water Trails: (We are at the northern gateway.)
The Pacific Northwest Trail : (We are in the heart of.) See also: Whistler Canyon Trail and the Knighthawk Trail - the connectors in Oroville to the PNT.

Historical Sites:

The Okanogan Borderlands Historical Society sponsors Heritage Days (see July below), hosts The Old Train Depot Museum and the U.S. Customs Cabin in Oroville, Come stop by the Depot to witness a time in history!

The Old Schoolhouse Museum and Ghost Town in Molson (17 miles NE of Oroville) are open from May through Labor Day. 

A 2010 CALENDAR

In the past seven (7) years locals and the Chamber of Commerce have added a number of activities and enhanced others to bring people to our region, which, by the way, is just four (4) miles from a major Port of Entry into Brisish Columbia, Canada. 

Starting in February on the Saturday of President's Day weekend, we have the 7th Annual Northwest Ice Fishing Festival in Molson, WA, just 17 miles NE of Oroville.

In April we will celebrate our 3rd Annual Kite Flying Day at Bud Clark Field, east of Oroville.

On the 2nd Saturday in May, 2010, we will celebrate the 76th Annual May Festival

On the 3rd Saturday in May, (Armed Forces Day) is the 7th Annual Run For the Border Motorcycle Rally from Wenatchee to Oroville. A fundraiser for a worthy cause sponsored by the Columbia River H.O.G.Club.

Over Memorial Day weekend in Oroville and Tonasket, we will have our 4th Annual Watchable Wildlife events.

From June through August every Friday night at the Molson Grange is roller skating for everyone. 

Most likely in the first part of June 2011, the Culpepper & Merriweather Circus will come to Oroville for its 4th time in the past eight years. Watch for details! 

In Mid-June the Annual Molson Mid-Summer Fest has activities for everyone.

On the 4th of July at Deep Bay Park, Oroville, the annual 4th of July Fireworks is always a great hit. 

July 24, 2010, will combine the 3rd Annual Airport Days with 7th Annual Heritage Days and the 2nd Annual Street Dance. Saturday, July 31st, from 1:00 to 6:00 p.m., the in inaugural TOAST of OROVILLE - A GRAPE EXPERIENCE - Wine Tasting event will be held at City Park, 1730 Main Street. The annual CAN-AM Hydroplane Races return to Lake Osoyoos at Deep Bay Park on August 8th & 9th, 2010.

Labor Day weekend sort of wraps up the summer activities.

Whether you are just driving through, spending the day, a weekend or a week, there is more than plenty to do.
